Hardware
At MediaLayer, we spare no expense when purchasing hardware for our application hosting environment. We use only the highest quality parts and will never set up a server with a single disk. All servers have four or more disks in a high performance, fault-tolerant RAID array. We take your data very seriously and will do anything in our power to keep it readily available to your website's visitors. With extremely reliable and high-performance SATA Raptor, SCSI, & SAS disks and multiple Intel Xeon processors, not only do we keep your websites up, but we also ensure that they load as fast as possible at all times. In addition, we constantly test and research new technology in order to keep our hardware up to date with market standards. We vow to never host clients on obsolete hardware!
Backup System
Every night, the MediaLayer Backup System tranfers a backup for each account on an application hosting server to an off-site system over an encrypted connection for maximized security. Backup processes are intellgently queued for minimal CPU and disk I/O impact. A second set of incremental backups is also run on a nightly basis to a separate system.
