At MediaLayer, we set our standards very high when choosing a suitable data center for our application hosting environment. Primary points that we take into consideration include (but are not limited to): location, quality & availability of bandwidth, security, and the building staff/management. We plan to continue expanding to global data centers in order to decrease risk and facilitate future geographically-redundant product lines. Below you will find a brief outline of each facility we utilize.
Our flagship location in NYC is situated in a world renown carrier hotel, home to infrastructure utilized by Internet and software giants such as Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. This location features connectivity to tier-1 networks such as Level3, Telia, Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint, along with extensive peering with other ISPs at local exchanges which minimizes response times and shortens network paths.
Our Chicago presence is based out of the Gigenet data center featuring redundant fiber paths to its own facility as well as a number of high quality bandwidth providers, including Level3, Telia, nLayer Global Crossing, and Internap. With advanced route optimization techniques, latency minimizing paths are chosen to provide optimal response times and fast transfer speeds.
